Changing the Lives of people through Clean Water

What are the statistics?

As of 2023, Kenya has a population of approximately 55 million people, with nearly 20 million (about 36 percent) lacking access to clean water. This highlights a significant water crisis in the country. Each year, over 3,500 children die from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and inadequate sanitation in Kenya

Kajiado County has a population of approximately 1.2 million people. Around 60% of the population lacks access to clean water, reflecting a critical water crisis in the region. Additionally, the county experiences high rates of waterborne diseases, with many children falling ill due to unsafe drinking water and inadequate sanitation facilities.

This context underscores the urgent need for interventions to improve water access and sanitation in Kajiado County, similar to the broader challenges faced across Kenya.

What we are doing about it

We partner with Just One Africa to bring Hope through donation of water filters to the community.

Common water sources are local watering holes for animals and people alike, runoff from Mt. Kilimanjaro, a small stream, or dams (filled with raw sewage, parasites, bacteria, and disease.)

The filters we give are designed after the technology used in kidney dialysis. The hollow fiber membranes remove all bacteria like Salmonella, Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella typhi. The filter is provided with everything the people need to turn any water source into clean, safe drinking water for their families
